Join us for a 4-week online course to learn and practice mindfulness. This course is great for those beginning, sustaining, or rejuvenating their mindfulness practice. During this class, you will practice mindfulness and learn several skills for managing stress and enriching your life.

  • Koru Mindfulness is an evidence-based1 mindfulness curriculum developed at Duke.
  • This class is specifically offered for nurses to provide mindfulness and resiliency training in a supportive, convenient format.
  • In four weeks, participants learn practical skills that help them manage stress and open their minds.
  • Learn practical mindfulness techniques from a trained mindfulness teacher and nurse.
  • Each class includes:
    • short opening meditation
    •  group check-in
    • new mind-body skill
    • mindfulness meditation practice

The Details:

  • Be part of a small group of nurses, advanced practice nurses, and nursing students
  • Learn specific mindfulness skills to resource you during and after your shifts
  • In order to deepen your learning, you’ll be asked to:
    • Practice a skill/meditation for 10 minutes every day
    • Use the Koru Mindfulness app to submit a meditation log daily
    • Complete brief weekly reading assignments

This is a live, online video class. To ensure the best possible experience for all participants, the program relies on video conferencing. Minimum requirements include a computer with speakers, microphone, and video capabilities, as well as a high-speed internet connection. You can also review the system requirements for the Zoom online meeting platform.
