Aisha Baker, PhD

I describe myself as… affirming, warm, empathic, and inquisitive.

Why I work with healthcare professionals: Most of my work as a psychologist has been spent in VA medical centers and clinics. This work has allowed me to witness the profound impact their work has on healthcare providers and underscored the importance of providing them with dedicated mental health support.

I’m passionate about… working with clients to address symptoms related to anxiety and trauma-related disorders; offering tools for managing stress; supporting clients in coping with grief and loss; and treating sleep concerns.

I also enjoy working with military Veterans, and I have years of experience working with Veterans.

You might like working with me if… you value a supportive and direct therapist. You can expect a safe and supportive environment where you can openly express your thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. I approach each interaction with curiosity and empathy. We will work to set realistic and achievable goals, and we will develop structured plans to achieve them. We will build on your strengths and address limiting beliefs, fostering an increase in self-confidence and self-efficacy.

My theoretical orientation is primarily cognitive behavioral. I help my clients to gain awareness of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. We use that awareness to empower clients and help them bring about changes in how they feel. I incorporate mindfulness training in my work with clients. I also recognize that culture plays a significant role in how we relate to the world around us, how others relate to us, and how we experience symptoms.

As a psychologist, my goal is to give clients the tools to address any problems and concerns that are preventing them from being able to be present for the things that are most important to them.

When not working… I enjoy reading, trying new recipes, binge-watching my favorite series of the moment, and spending time with my husband and stepdaughter.

Ali Faris, PsyD

I describe myself as… empathetic, warm, playful with a sense of humor, encouraging and excited to learn about what makes you who you are! I am fond of helping others come to recognize the ways they are unique and wonderful. I don’t shy away from the more challenging subjects or situations that are a part of life and will work side by side with you as you are ready.

Why I work with healthcare professionals: My passion for working closely with medical teams as a neuropsychologist has led me to my work in hospital and outpatient medical settings, including the field of oncology. I have directly witnessed the struggles of healthcare professionals and have learned how to offer support through the many challenges they face in their professional and personal lives. I believe that when clinical providers are emotionally well and balanced in their values, passions, and personal lives, we can create healthy, fulfilling, and joyful healthcare workplaces.

I’m passionate about… I specialize in working with clinicians struggling with burnout, stress, anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD/trauma, grief/loss, relationship struggles, existential crisis, transitions, performance challenges, self-worth, and perfectionism. In addition, I have experience working with clinicians with serious medical conditions such as cancer, neurological disorders, brain and spinal cord injuries.

You might like working with me if… My approach centers on honoring your knowledge, with the goal of creating an empowering environment where you have the freedom to discover your strengths, resilience, and courage. It is important to me that we consider culture, history, and identity in the context of that with which you are struggling. I truly appreciate the beautiful complexity that makes each of us who we are. What fun we might have looking at your life through new lenses, flipping scripts, and shifting paradigms!

When not working… I can be found doing many physical activities including circus arts and spending time catching up with friends and family.

Dug Lee Lebel, PhD, ABPP

I describe myself as… cis-woman, artist, psychologist, athlete, Korean-American, child of immigrants, liberal, married, leader, teacher, tattoo canvas, and eternal student.

Why I work with healthcare professionals: Many of us share the same internal conflict of trying to be helpers at the same time as being human — this is a conflict that non-healthcare professionals do not really understand. The positive feedback loop fed by moral stress and compassion fatigue can sometimes seem impossible to escape. Therefore, the reason I work with healthcare professionals is because of 1) the clear need that exists, 2) the shared mission to serve, and 3) my unique ability to help because I am both a peer and a psychologist.

I'm passionate about… people of color and other marginalized populations and recognize the rise in mental health challenges within these communities in the last few years. I am also committed to people who suffer from gastrointestinal and autoimmune disorders.

You might like working with me if… you want to work with a provider who is active, authentic, and transparent, who expects the same in return from patients. You will not like working with me if you want to just vent or talk about day-to-day problems because my focus is on the bigger picture, patterns, and systemic issues that are contributing to your current challenges. My primary theoretical orientation is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

When not working… I am an artist and an athlete. You will find me creating multimedia pieces or out on running trails, swimming, biking, and doing hot yoga.

George Vergolias, PsyD

With more than 20 years of clinical experience, I bring the combined perspective of a clinical and forensic psychologist as well as an executive and leadership coach. I specialize in supporting physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals working in high-pressure environments such as hospitals, emergency departments, and medical practices. Having provided consultation and care across hospital systems and clinical risk settings, I understand the unique challenges medical staff face, including burnout, compassion fatigue, and the emotional demands of critical decision-making. This experience allows me to deliver care that is both clinically rigorous and deeply attuned to the realities of practicing medicine.

My therapeutic approach is structured, collaborative, and outcomes-focused. Drawing on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing, I help clients reframe unhelpful thought patterns, strengthen resilience, and align actions with their values. In addition, my background as an executive and leadership coach informs my ability to work with high-performing professionals who must balance personal wellbeing with demanding roles. I strive to create a supportive, pragmatic space where healthcare professionals can regain clarity, restore balance, and sustain both their wellbeing and their capacity to thrive in work and life.

Jennifer Forrester, PsyD

I describe myself as… empathetic, authentic, caring, and insightful. I create a safe space for open dialogue, listen without judgment, and offer support tailored to individual needs.

Why I work with healthcare professionals: I am a licensed psychologist with over five years of experience specializing in providing mental health support to students, residents, and medical professionals. I have worked extensively in academic medical settings and have a deep understanding of the pressures and demands faced by individuals who work in the field of health care. I have found mental health awareness to be crucial for residents and physicians as it enhances compassion, effectiveness, and decision-making as well as reduces mental fatigue and stress that can lead to burnout.

I’m passionate about… helping individuals manage stress, prevent burnout, overcome imposter syndrome, navigate the complex challenges of academic, training, and clinical environments, adjust to phase of life changes, and improve overall mental and physical health. I am also passionate about helping women navigate the ongoing disparities in medicine (i.e. career related gender inequities, disproportionate burden of home and parental responsibilities, work-life integration challenges, and threats to career attributed to pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting). I am also ardent about supporting female clinicians with career-specific fertility and family building challenges.

You might like working with me if… you are interested in learning skills to maintain personal well-being and establish a healthy work-life balance. I employ evidenced based techniques including cognitive-behavioral therapy and mindfulness-based approaches to navigate the unique challenges of academia and the clinical environment. My clinical expertise fosters personal growth, resilience, and autonomy. I enjoy supporting clients to achieve clarity about personal thoughts and behaviors to obtain meaningful self-discovery. My goal is to help create a space for personal transformation, while fostering emotional intellect and healthy personal and professional relationships.

When not working…I can be found spending time with my Maine coon cats, reading science fiction fantasy novels, and trying new restaurants. I also enjoy going to the movie theater and spending time with my family.

I describe myself as… Curious, resilient and motivated by a desire to understand people within their own unique context.

Why I work with healthcare professionals: Working alongside physicians and healthcare teams taught me firsthand the challenges clinicians face — balancing patient care, systemic pressures, and personal well-being. Supporting healthcare professionals has become central to my mission, because their resilience directly impacts not only their lives, but the patients and communities they serve.

I’m passionate about… Helping people to build resilience and thrive within their own unique context. I specialize in working with healthcare professionals navigating burnout, self-doubt, and high stress as well as individuals managing chronic illness, parenting stress, and high-performance environments.

Laura Lovato, PhD

I describe myself as… transparent, intuitive, and warm. I hope my clients feel seen and appreciated for their humanness and not a diagnosis.

Why I work with healthcare professionals: I spent my early career working in medical settings, both as a colleague and therapist to medical providers. I appreciate the sacrifice and unique resilience it takes to be a health professional, as well as the challenges of managing personal well-being under the weight of exceptional responsibility and stress. Our healers need healing too-and it is incredibly rewarding to offer care to those that are always giving it.

I’m passionate about… working with clinicians who are struggling with a sense of purpose or burnout, managing personal relationships with the demands of medicine, and clarifying values for how they practice medicine and show up in their lives.

You might like working with me if… you want a personalized approach that incorporates your values and perspective; to understand your current situation in context of your broader story; and you want practical, tangible suggestions for change.

When not working… I am practicing yoga, trying to learn to garden (and actually enjoy it!), and catching up on reading my tower of impulse-buy books.

Lindsey King, PsyD

I describe myself as… passionate, supportive, and goal oriented. I truly believe that everyone is capable of change.

Why I work with healthcare professionals: I’ve worked with healthcare professionals throughout my career as well as working in a bariatric surgical clinic for 7 years. Through these experiences I learned that I truly enjoy working within this population. These individuals push themselves for their patients and often do not prioritize their own mental well-being.

I’m passionate about… working with clinicians who want to learn how to prioritize their own needs, meet personal goals, work on relational issues, and process traumatic experiences. Many of the people I work with are high achieving within their careers. However, they struggle to understand how to cope with the demands of their careers.

You might like working with me if… you appreciate gaining insight into what's causing issues related to anxiety, depression, low self-worth, or a lack of motivation within your personal life. I spend the first one or two sessions getting to know you. I also practice motivational interviewing which means that I believe that you are your own best expert. So, when we're working together, I work with you to figure out what your goals are and check in with you on a regular basis to see if you feel that we are making progress toward those goals.

I've worked within the field of health psychology for many years now. I’ve watched individuals who never thought that they could meet their goals, change their lives and become the people they've always wanted to be. In addition to motivational interviewing, I employ cognitive-behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and solution-focused therapies.

When not working… I enjoy exploring used bookstores, reading, staying active outdoors through hiking and walking. I also enjoy baking and cooking.

I describe myself as… a blunt, analytical problem solver who works closely with clients to define clear, actionable steps for achieving progress.

Why I work with healthcare professionals: I enjoy helping talented people thrive while managing challenging personal and work circumstances. Through my time working in various medical settings, I have experience working with clients navigating career path frustrations, burnout, relationship concerns, ethical challenges, systemic hurdles, and workplace stressors such as interpersonal conflict, communication challenges, and productivity expectations.

I’m passionate about… helping healthcare professionals be the best version of themselves. This includes helping clients be more efficient, enhancing their communication skills, and managing symptoms of ADHD, depression, and anxiety.

You might like working with me if… you want to be motivated to make changes and don’t want someone to sugarcoat the situation. We will openly reflect on the personal or systemic forces that contribute to daily challenges and harness your strengths to be healthier and more productive.

When not working… I enjoy teaching and coaching my daughter, spending quality time with my wife while binge-watching Netflix, and indulging in my passion for football whenever my schedule allows.

I describe myself as… open-minded, curious, lighthearted, and honest. I want people to always feel comfortable sharing themselves and in return I will always do my best to help.

Why I work with healthcare professionals: My own extremely difficult experience in medical training has made me forever empathetic to the trauma many healthcare professionals endure, and the concern about having a safe space to seek help.

I’m passionate about… not overdiagnosing or overmedicating. While both have their role, I aim to normalize what my patients are going through and support my patients with a biopsychosocial model of care.
